Who doesn’t love a Chevrolet Corvette? With the superior speed design, low profile, highly powered engine, and amazing amount of style and sleekness the Corvette has turned the heads of many the American car lover for decades. In fact the only thing that seems to turn a car guy’s head faster than a new Corvette is a classic model Corvette bringing back thoughts of yesteryear and awakening the nostalgia associated with this American icon.

The 2014 Corvette Stingray C7, known as the seventh generation of the Stingray, has quieted the critics who stated previous models were great to look at but lacked in comforts on the inside. Now ready to compete with some of the greatest names in street legal fast cars on the planet such as Ferrari and Lamborghini, the Corvette has a completely redesigned interior offering comfort as well as intuitive controls right where the driver needs them.

This new Corvette has also lost some weight, according to Indianapolis Chevrolet, shedding almost 100 pounds with a completely redesigned aluminum frame. The Stingray offers a convertible soft-top or hard tonneau cover, composite and carbon fiber body panels, and a couple different engine configurations.

Either engine configuration on the Stingray C7 is offered as a 6.2 liter V-8 with only a five horsepower difference at 455 and 460 horsepower respectively. The transmissions offered for the Stingray are either a 7-speed manual w/OD or a 6-speed automatic w/OD. There is no doubt the classic name of Stingray rings true and continues to build on the reputation of being one of the meanest and fastest cars on the road with zero to sixty speeds at a breakneck pace of 3.8 seconds.

What’s next on the plate for the Corvette? The 2015 model of the Corvette Z06 has already been deemed the next great super car. This next generation of the classic speedster is the closest Chevrolet has come to offering a race car for the road that closely matches their racetrack versions.

Offering an even lighter vehicle, the Corvette Stingray Z06 is made for rigidity with the lightweight by utilizing an aluminum frame, carbon-fiber hood and removable carbon-fiber roof panel. To add a crazy amount of power to this Chevrolet supplies this beast with a supercharged 6.2-liter aluminum V8 engine that really brings it with 625 horsepower under the hood and 635 lb-ft. of torque. The increase for 2015 over the 2014 version, which is already a monster, is insane.

The transmission upgrades for 2015 are also phenomenal offering a 7-speed manual or a paddle shift 8-speed automatic transmission. The Stingray Z06 also allows the driver to have a greater experience with upgrades in technology such as the Driver Mode Selector to allow for customization of vehicle performance dynamics, and Performance Data Recorder which records high-definition video for the driver.

As the most awarded name in LeMans Racing, the Corvette of the road closely mirrors the Corvette of the track in many ways. The engineers at Chevrolet brought a ton of track upgrades into the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z06 to please any car shopper searching for the best car they can buy to give them the speed they deserve.
